Sarah: English & History of Art
Sarah studied English Literature and History of Art at University and became an Assistant Curator at the Victoria and Albert Museum, followed by Museum Curator of Nature in Art Gallery. Sarah came to teaching later in life and has taught English full time in a busy State Secondary School and learnt the value of well-planned, interesting lessons in order to keep up to 35 children focused and engaged. While in the school she began both counselling and tutoring sessions, often trying to raise confidence levels and realise potential in children that needed one-on-one help. Her work as an Examiner for GCSE has been invaluable in showing exactly how to guide students towards a more effective way of answering in exams and getting the highest grades possible. Sarah was also an area valuer for Phillips and Bonhams. Sarah lectures on Art and Antiques, as well as writing articles for national publications.
” I can’t thank this lady enough for the support, tuition and genuine empathy she gave my daughter before and during her GCSE’s. My daughter was predicted a pass (4) but with Sarah’s help, patience and compassion, she made her believe in herself, gave her the confidence to achieve her potential. She gained a grade an A. She made her love and enjoy the subject. A big thank you. “
