St Peter’s Tutors is the brainchild of Rachel Huntley
Founder and Director of St Peters Tutors
St Peter’s Tutors is my brainchild, based on my passion and experience of teaching and school life. It was born out of discussing tutoring in the common room in Malvern.
My father was a founding father of Surrey University, later Pro-Vice Chancellor. I grew up surrounded by academics and international students.
I am married with a daughter and two sons, who between them were educated in a primary school, prep school, co-ed and single sex boarding schools.
I studied History at UCL and have taught History, Politics, Ancient History & Religious Studies at both maintained and independent boarding schools. I am trained in SEN and have experience of working one to one with students.
I was Head of History, Politics and Critical Thinking, as well as Head of Year 9 and was on the Senior Management Team. I introduced USA University entrance teaching and was instrumental in setting up the Oxbridge programme.
I helped numerous students at different schools with their personal statements and Oxbridge interviews, as well as 13+ scholarship interviews. I am in touch with many former students.
I have met many prospective parents and students. I am dedicated to helping people to make the right choices for their children and to ensure children flourish.
I have extensive connections in the Independent Schools and University sectors.
“If you’re in need of any of the services St Peter’s tutors provide, I couldn’t recommend it more. Mrs Huntley helped me beyond measure with my personal statement, History A-Level, Model UN and instilled in me the confidence to pursue law and make informed university choices. She has a great ability to see each pupil for exactly who they are and tailor her advice and style to their needs. I’ll always credit a great deal of my success to her. All the best, Mrs H”

Heather has extensive experience of working in top independent co-ed and girls’ boarding schools, as well as in prep schools. She set up a Junior Boarding House for a school in Malvern and was the housemistress. Heather is still in touch with many former students and parents. She has tutored children and has advised parents on choosing schools. Heather lives in London with her husband who works at the Royal Brompton Hospital. Their daughter went to a boarding prep school followed by Marlborough College. Heather enjoys being part of a London choir and enjoys visiting all the museums on her doorstep.
“Our daughter was looking for a girl’s boarding school offering the International Baccalaureate. Heather managed the whole process and successfully found her a place at Cheltenham Ladies College despite stiff competition. It has been a huge success. Heather’s expertise both before and during the sixth form period has proved invaluable.”
“Heather found 2 places at short notice for our son and daughter at top public schools. We cannot thank her enough especially for our son, who is severely dyslexic, and has flourished in his new school. Heather’s knowledge and contacts in the private school sector are second to none.”
